Is Dialog eying CBNsat?

Dialog Telekom has purchased Asset Media the operators of Neth FM. Please refer the below link.

TV Radio Sri Lanka Forum : Dialog Picks up Asset Media

What is very interesting to note is that Asset Media has the license for a FTA and a Pay Tv License. Also the following statement by the Dialog CEO is also interesting, "The strategic diversification into the television broadcasting allows Dialog to move into digital terrestrial broadcasting, direct to home or DTH and mobile television services, its CEO Hans Wijayasuriya said."

Can anyone confirm whether Dialog applied for the recent pay tv license. If Dialog enters the DTH industry there is no doubt that it will be a great service. The fact that CBNsat is a complete setup together with customers, equipment and content providers will no doubt prove to be an attractive investment for Dialog.

Although there is no way of getting an exact picture of the plans Dialog has for its DTH service there is no doubt that they are eying DTH. Exactly when is the question now? If they are planning to takeover CBNsat, it is best done soon.

There is no doubt that the CBNsat Customers will welcome this move, if it takes place and will continue to support the new management as they did the present management. Let's look at the bright side, it is way better than someone else taking over and it is definitely better than a takeover by SATnet or TV Lanka. These guys will get totally disintegrated from this competition.

Please keep us updated on the latest developments regarding CBNsat.

This is an interesting development. As customers we waited for a long time & hopefully some relief should come towards us. And further as blog admin mentioned taking over by Dialog GSM will be much better than by SHITnet or TV Lanka management.

Looser said...

It's a great news. I think everybody like this idea and we all the service of Dialog GSM THE BEST IN THE MOBILE PHONE INDUSTRY.

Hope CBNSat would agree to sell and Dailog willing to buy.

i think this is a good move. The CBN Subscriber unite should use all its force now to push dialog to take over CBN. Instead of wasting time pushing athorities who are not even bothered about the consumers, atleast dialog will be more considerate than the fricking authorities.

Regulations crafted for Satellite TV transmissions
Updated on Monday, October 02nd 2006; 22:00 Hrs. SST (16:30 Hrs. GMT)

A new programme will be drawn up for the maintenance of satellite TV transmissions in Sri Lanka.

The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission will craft new regulations. There are no provisions under the Rupavahini Corporation Act for the maintenance of satellite TV services. The government has told the Supreme Court that a set of new regulations related to such services, will be drafted under the Act. The Media Minister told the Supreme Court that they will consider issuing permits for satellite TV services, which are under suspension at present, after the enactment of the new regulations.

NOW CBNSAT HAS ONLY 1 OPTION.

SELL THE BUSINESS TO DIALOG TELEKOM

MIKE said...

PALITHA GALAPPATHTHIE IS CORRECT AND THE CID WAS PURSUING A LEAD ON A LTTE CONNECTION WITH CBNsat WHICH WAS THWARTED BY HULLA AND BALLA TO EARN BIG MONEY.

CBNsat WILL NEVER BE ISSUED WITH THE LICENCE EVEN IN 100 YEARS AND THAT IS A FACT,THE GOVERNMENT IS DRAGGING THE CASE UNTILL PROPER EVIDANCE IS AVAILABLE AND WHEN THEY PUT IT OUT,WE OURSELVES WHO WERE FIGHTING FOR OUR CONNECTION WILL BE ALARMED AS MANIL SAID.

YES,THE PRESIDENT WOULD NEVER HAVE DRAGGED ON THIS WITH 300 EMPLOYEES WITHOUT ANY SUBSTANCE AND THE SUDDEN CHANGE OF COURSE IN THE SUPREME COURT HEARING SHOWS THAT THERE IS SOMETHING ALARMING BEHIND CBNsat.

THE ONLY OPTION AVAILABLE IS TO SELL THE WHOLE OPERATION TO DIALOG AS THEY ARE THE ONLY PEOPLE AVAILABLE WITH THE NECESSARY FUNDS AND GETTING LATE OR SELLING TO ANY OTHER WILL RESULT IN THEM BUYING AT A PETTY PRICE.

CBNsat SHOULD IMMEDIATLY TAKE ACTION WITHOUT FURTHER FALLING IN TO TROUBLE AND LOOSING THE ENTIRE INVESTMENT AS THERE IS A POSSIBILITY OF THE GOVERNMENT AQUIRING SAME.

JOKIYA said...

I also think the Green Light will never going to come with the present owners of CBNsat and that is a fact which i got confirmed from a reliable source.

The president of the country would not have turned his blind eye to so many pleas if there is no subtantial threat of some kind to the country and he would have considerd the plight of the employees alone.

The only option seems to be the once you guys are talking about and that is to sell the entire operation to dialog.

Looser said...

Is this the news that Chami TV was talking about that we never get CBNSat back?

Will it happen? The selling & buying thing

ROMESH said...

LOOSER-I AM NOT AWARE OF THE SELLING AND BUYING (THAT IS THE ONLY OPTION AVAILABLE FOR CBNsat).

BUT I AM PRETTY SURE THAT CBNsat IS NOT GOING TO GET THE LICENCE HOW LONG THEY WAIT.

ALISON said...

How much we and the subscriber unite fight to get our connections back it is pretty obvious that there is something big in this whole issue for the autorities to act like this and the recommencement of transmission with the same set up is out of the equation.

The most practical thing the CBNsat owner could do is to dispose the entire business to a licence holder, and DIALOG seems to be a prudent option as they may be the only licenced holder who could raise the funds to aquire same.

Lightning_Struck_Tower said...

I too believe that there is little hope of CBNsat getting a licence

But i would NOT believe for one moment that they were connected with the LTTE.Failure to accquire a licence in srilanka doesnt mean its company's fault. You need to kiss ass to get one and thats how its done in SL.

No one will convince me about CBNsat's LTTE connections untill i see valid proof. And i'm sorry to say that what someone posts in a blog isnt sound proof. We've seen many posts here and very few of them have contained true facts.

So i still believe reason for CBNsat's downfall is the two cockless bastards who kissed ass to become high ups in the govt.

P.S.-- if such strong evidence proving CBNsat funding LTTE exsists, for fuck's sake arrest the CEO and charge them using counter-terrorism act. Freeze their funds and seal their HQ. (Seals were removed later. WHY REMOVE THE SEALS IF LTTE CONNECTION IS PROVEN?)
Open your eyes guys.

I fully agree with you and your argument makes a lot of sense to me. But then again right there is the problem!
If anything makes sense, it doesnt work well in this country and amongst its people. So dont waste your brain cells trying to put sense into these people. It will never work.

One would think that if real serious security threats were the reason, its a cakewalk for the judicial and the authorities to annihilate CBNSat overnight, given the laws of the country. But why has that not happened yet. Because its not true. And they dont have any real evidence. Just some cock and bull stories that were told to HE.
The real truth seems to be who's wife is sleeping with whom, and who is scared that his real wife will find out about sleeping with the other guys wife. Therefore the wife-seller has to be protected, kept happy, and his business helped out, even at the cost of 20,000 subscribers and 300 employees.

Its the juicy Lankan Soap Opera. Only difference is its a real life soap opera, and not on TV.

Lets enjoy this soap opera even without a TV.
It should be called "Spineless and the Ugly" NOT "Bold and the Beautiful"

This is the true story.

CID was carrying on the investigations about cbnsat. The allegations were that they have enabled few subscribers to watch the NTT through cbnsat decoders. The second is that LTTE have funded the cbnsat and they have been paying LTTE in return.

When these investigations were going on Hulugalle and Abeywardana stepped into the scene to get personal gains. Prior to the world cup there were so many orders for connections and hulugalles idea was to grab the opportunity. Abeywardana was scared about cbnsat giving free sat connections to e-learning centres and eventually they will grab electroteks share.

So before CID finalised their investigation these influential people got them to seal the cbnsat offices. It disn't helped much for the investigations. If CID investigations were carried out for another few months they could have caught the culprits.

This is why now they act like dumb asses without any valid proof in hand.

But on the other hand still cbnsat wasn't able to show how they found 13.2 billion as the initial investment. This is why the government authorities want all the agreements they had with foreign channels and the satellite operator. The doubt is that some proxy org like TRO might have funded these.

If cbnsat can show to the court how they found money for initial invesment there is nothing that the authorities say. This is where the doubt lies. How could they afford such a huge investment together with other dealings. All through a single person without any shareholders.

This is where the problem lies. So cbnsat will not be on air with the present management. They will have to face the charges soon.

Meth is correct. If Dialog takes CBN, that means we are heavily funding Malasia. I would like if SLT may takeover CBN. In that case funds may remain in SL. Though Dialog giving us a better service than SLT we Sri Lankans must back SLT.

Palitha Galappaththi said...

Well, well, I didn't want to expose too much about the CID investigations on CBN, but to shed some light to our hard working bloggers. It seems, there are many people out there in this blog who get very reliable information from the state side. I don't think Dialog will buy CBN. They have plans to start their own setup, and it can be any moment now as they already have the required clearence. Dialog's money doesn't entirely goto Malaysia, they have heavility invested back in this country's schools, medical facilities, universities. All those people trading on CSE with Dialog shares are gaining, too. SLT also not 100% Sri Lankan, NTT Communication Corporation owns 35.2%.

Lightning_Struck_Tower said...

will dialog enter DTH market in srilanka? or will they just use this license to enhance their newly launched 3G services?

cableguy said...

My Dear Sanju

If all that you say is the truth, why isnt the government authorities explaining this to the people? Even if they have no complete evidence(thanks to stupid Hulla and Balla), all they have to say is the kind of thing that you just stated, and then the customers will understand. After all most of us dont want to be a part of the LTTE money making machinery, if thats where our money is going.
I still dont understand why the authorities are not making such claims. And only CBNSat defended their innocense so far with ads, Newsletter etc with proof. Furthermore, if what you say is the truth, isnt it the governments responsibility to safeguard us and provide us with an alternate solution? considering we may have all been victims of a government approved(BOI) scam?
Its time that the government take some responsibility here and look into the welfare of the 300 employees and give the CBNSat customers what they have paid for. After all CBNSat was not another shady finance company that takes people for a ride with their deposits. Whatever CBNSat had in mind, the government allowed them to do it. So we as citizens of this country have a right to hold the govnt too responsible.

This is an opinion; (if CBNsat has not done any thing wrong)

CBNsat did their advertising through one of the big advertising agencies in Sri Lanka. If our “Subscribers Unit” can do a campaign about the unethical practices (or the best way which they think is correct) regarding this matter through a few Sinhala & English news papers (I know CBNsat did that, but not at the correct time), by highlighting the situation of the present customers; as the government still has not taken any solution to give relief to the TAX paying CBNsat customers. What I know is that the advertising agency that I am referring to has influence & contacts through private publications, radio stations, & at a very low cost or without any cost at all, through the agency influence our “Subscriber Unit” should be able to do a small campaign to educate the public & to express the suffering which the customers are facing at this moment.

Because this case is not only about CBNsat, this highlights the corruption in our government from top positions & the corrupted people who control the public & the influence they have with the legal system.

THIS BLOG REPRESENTS ONLY A VERY FEW PEOPLE BECAUSE THE INTERNET PENETRATION IN SRI LANKA IS VERY LOW. EVEN THOUGH THIS IS THE ONLY PLACE TO GET ACTUAL & REAL-TIME INFORMATION ON THIS MATTER, UNFORTUNATELY NOT EVERYONE HAS INTERNET CONNECTIONS. BLOG ADMIN PLEASE NOTE THAT I AM NOT PUTTING DOWN YOUR EFFORTS, BECAUSE OF YOUR INFORMATION ONLY I HAVE THIS MUCH INFORMATION TO TALK ABOUT BUT, MOST OF THE PUBLIC INCLUDING CBNSAT SUBSCRIBERS WHO DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO THE INTERNET WILL AT LEAST READ THE NEWSPAPER ARTICLES. SO PLEASE DO NOT
MISUNDERSTAND AS I BELIEVE YOUR INFORMATION HAS DEFINITELY MADE A DIFFERENCE TO ALL OF US. SIR I REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR EFFORT ON EDUCATING THE PEOPLE ON THIS MATTER BUT AS I HAVE MENTIONED THIS INFORMATION STILL NEEDS TO REACH A WIDER MAJORITY OF PEOPLE AS IT HAS NOT GONE TO THE PUBLIC PROPERLY. THIS MATTER SHOULD BE PUBLICIZED IN A MAJOR WAY. I THINK APPROACHING THE RIGHT PERSON WILL MAKE THE DIFFERENCE.

Presently, this matter has not gone to the public & none of the private media companies have given the exact & correct information to the public.

As stated in this blog “Mr. President we appeal to you to remove with immediate effect the Media Secretary of the MCNS since he is also the dealer of a Indian Cable tv company and there is a conflict of interest in his business and his state job since he can class any of his competitors as threats to National Security.” . These things should highlighted in the press & to educate the public as to what kind of people give advice the Ministry of Defence & what kind of jokers they are. Because as we all know this is the person who masterminded the shut down of CBNsat operations.

Futhermore if there is a connection with the LTTE, then as CBNsat customers we all agree with the government’s decision. But as we all know up to this day our system or the government could not prove the allegations which they have put against CBNsat. And about the BOI, need to highlight why the BOI is silent because this is the state governing body who has approved the operations of CBNsat. Which means BOI has given approval to run an illegal company in Sri Lanka.

As all of us know all those government allegations are “KOHEDA YANNE MALLE POLL” type & publishing these things will make a difference. And why up to now the government has not takan CBNsat consumers RIGHTS into consideration.

Any way talking in this blog, nothing is happening & CBNsat is sinking deeper & deeper day by day. Now I am considering a illigal SAT system to get the infortainment which I was getting from CBNsat. As we all know we were watching crap from our local channels & after getting the SAT informatinment only we knew what kind of world we are living in & how the world moves towords the future.

Palitha Galappaththi said...

why don't you call Muhunthan Canagasoorium find out why its taking so long for CBNsat to tie up with a existing broadcaster as per last judicial hearing. If CBN was really interested they should have linked up with Rupavahini and on air by now. CBN has not even started a dialog with SLRC till today.

OK so its clear. If all what is being discussed here is true.

The Board of Investment of SL is open for Investors from terrorist organisations to start businesses here(next we will find Bin Laden opening up garment factories in the zones.). Tax concessions would be given for all equipment imported including equipment which could be a threat to global security.

Also the state and private media in sri lanka will publicly advertise on behalf of terrorists.

Customers who are citizens of sri lanka will pay 15% tax to the Govt. for payments made to terrorists.

Ministers and top officials of the govt. will attend to functions organised by terrorists (now that is possible!)

in short we are aiding terrorism (of course within the legal framework of the govt)

and we all are terrorists.

Lets not expect anything more from the Guardians of this country.

How did LTTE get the Katunayake AirForce base maps, with details of each access points and airmen on duty at a time? sold by a sinhala airforce officer who was offered migration to US with other amenitiies by the LTTE. I am sure CBN also spent .01% percentage of their budget on these men and ministers.

Dear Sanju 1975.

You seems to have got your brains on the other side.CBNsat only has spent 300 million RS. for the entire operation which 90% funded by HSBC and 10 % by the said company.Media and the CID is having all these information, it was up to the managment to deside what they wanted to do with that money ither they could have bought a Colombo 7 property or inveset this in to a DTH operation. So please do not give false information !KNow your facts before you write.

Lightning_Struck_Tower said...

RS. 13.2 billion investment my ass. Stop talking shit if you dont know true facts.

By spreading false information in this forum, you are directly supporting the unethical practices behind the closure.

And the state media will be the first to shout out loud the moment they find sound proof of CBNsat-LTTE connection. Believe me, THEY WILL BRAG about the closure and will never hide the facts and be silent about the bust as this again can be used as propaganda. It happened last time when some cable providers were busted and which were actually connected to the LTTE. There were full page articles about the bust. And dear sanju, you say that CID couldnt provide any proof coz their investgation was inturrupted by hulla and balla. If CID hadnt found any proof by the inturruption, what makes you think CID WILL EVER find any proof of such a connection? Thats a very dangerous way of thinking.

This loops infinetely. Isnt this an enethical way to handle the situation?

Cost of a Satellite

A lot of money is needed to make and launch a satellite. The price to launch a satellite sometimes depends on its size. A satellite being launched by TRW is a 20 foot tall model of the Earth Observing System satellite, complete with wing-like solar panel and cameras. Another is the half-size 67 foot prototype of Venture Star called X-33 which is supposed to be launched in 1999. However, no matter the size, satellites are expensive. Lockheed Satellite Company recently gave $1 billion for development of a satellite to the winner of a satellite design contest. However, without government grants, Lockheed Martin might not be willing to pay the $4 to $8 billion needed to launch the Venture Star. A new innovation by Lockheed Martin and NASA will shrink the shuttle's price-per-payload from $10,000 to $1,000, cut repairs and inspection costs, and reduce the time needed to build it. It is hard to launch an expensive satellite when hardly any contributions are made. Congress and the media seem not to be interested in space science and satellites, thus reducing public support for spending on space and satellites. Cassini comments on the subject, "I'm probably working on the last big spender among satellites--Cassini. That's more than $1 billion of development costs."

Lightning_Struck_Tower said...

dear sanju 1975,
dont take my pervious comment seriously. It was supposed to be a sarcastic post. But i damn well know CBNsat didnt invest 13.2billion on DTH operation.

Untill then im on CBNsat's side.

If ever they reveal such proof, i will be the first to smash my dish and STB as i dont want to be an arsehole who supported terrorism.

But you posting here "saying" govt has got proof wont change anything.

sanju1975 said...

Dear LST,

Don't show your lack of knowledge on this blog. Read this article and see that even to launch a satellite of this size the cost would be US $9 billion.

EQUIVELANT TO LKR 900 BILLION

So please don't talk bullshit here not knowing the facts.

Even in the last SC hearing CJ have asked from where the balance money came ?? Still there is a huge amount of money invested into cbnsat is there pending to show where it had come from.

cbnsat have asked from the sri lanka telecom operators association to save them from this problem. But they have also refused.

Why can't you see any one is not getting involved in the situation. I also have a connection and I noticed that so many of people are not bothered except a very few.

The government need not neccesarily want to disclose everything to the public. Then the other links will also be exposed and they will hide. The best example is the TRO case.

Anyway pointless arguing about these. What i tell is cbnsat will not be able to come into the business with the present management. That is 200% sure now from the news we get.

As mike said will the government drag this case amidst the protests from the public and the risk of 300 employees just to satisfy 2 people ???? I hope not !!!!

And what i said before is that hulla and balla tried to get personal advantage out of this scenario and have let CID to raid the place without concrete eveidence.

If CID continued to monitor cbnsat without shutting them down for another 3-4 months definitely they could have come up with some eveidence as an unlocked decoder used to watch ntt !!!!!!!!

sanju1975 said...

Dear LST,

It is true that we have invested a lot on this too. So the government will need to look into some of their concerns too.

The fact is cbnsat will not be able to come live with the present management. The only option for them is to sell the business to some other party.

According to a previous post they are not doing that either !!!!!

WHY ?????????????????????

We have waited enough in this case. Now it's 4 months since shutdown. It's high time that this could be resolved.

We are not in a position to invest another 17,000 on a fresh connection from another new operator.

SO LET'S TELL CBNSAT TO SELL THE BUSINESS TO SOMEONE WHO COULD OPERATE THE SAME SERVICE TO THE EXISTING SUBSCRIBERS.

Looser said...

Sanju1975, Do you think this government will ever think about the employees or the citizens?

I don't think so? Yes they will think about us only after five years to get our votes.

Dear sanju,

PLease read my comment carefully.

""and for rs 13.2 billion, they might hav been able to buy entire pas12 satellite, not just couple of transponders lol.""

If you didnt understand the sarcasm and took the post seriously, you've got issues.

My point was that CBNsat never invested rs 13 billion on their DTH operation. Please let us know how you came up with the figure 13.2 billion. What is your source? According to my knowledge, the investment never exeeded rs 1 billion. And were you there at the court hearing?

And if you didnt know the TRO fund freeze made it to newspaper headlines. But every small article about CBNsat always mentioned some shit about licences or fashion TV.

Please answer my question. If there is a proven LTTE connection, why did the court remove seals and allow test transmission? To please the terrorists? that aint the work of a responsible govt.

And if you have time, please go throught the timeline of events. Just watch how the case postponements were made and the reasons for them. I hope you wont miss that there is something odd about the whole scenario. I've been living in sl for a long time and i know that this is not the way the govt will handle a possible LTTE connection.

And one part of what you say might be true. CBNsat may never come back. The govt will drag it on till their henchment are statisfied.

But i believe thats not coz of LTTE connection but coz of some vested interests.

Lightning_Struck_Tower said...

Sanju,

""According to a previous post they are not doing that either !!!!!""

So you are gathering your invaluable data from other posts in this forum? I gotta say thats one reliable information source :p

"If CID continued to monitor cbnsat without shutting them down for another 3-4 months definitely they could have come up with some eveidence as an unlocked decoder used to watch ntt !!!!!!!!""

and they might not have been able to prove it at all! What makes you so sure? Is it your biased way of thinking? You can search my house one whole day for a suicide bomber jacket and never find one. And you will never find one even if you search my house everyday coz i dont have one . How will you prove something exsist if there is no such thing? Imagination and guesswork are not proof.

And u say the govt wont risk the jobs of 300 people to satisfy 2 guys. Dont you know about SL? Some govts even gave arms to the LTTE. How many lives were risked then? What matters to the govt is not the amount of lives that are hit by their actions, what matters is the amount of money they gain. This is true with 90% of politicians in SL.

""So the government will need to look into some of their concerns too.""

"A person is innocent until proven guilty"

we should not make accusations about CBN without having facts to go with it.

how would you feel if you are accused about something that you know you did not do it but whole of people around you think that you did it.

similarly we should keep our feelings to ourself as we do not have proof either to say CBN is guilty or not.As for me I will only be convinced on provision of proof.

even in the US ,president Bush lost on the US SC ruling that every person whether accused of being a terrorist or not has to be proven in a court of law by evidence.

while I am dead against terrorism, I will not make opinions about a person or a thing without having proof and hope you do too.

The general impression is that CBN is a front orgernization for the LTTE (Such as TRO) and the government seem to have some facts on it.The backing out of forums and other media orgernizations on this issue gives clear indication that they are well aware of the dealing behind it.

Sanju is right,The government and the Supreme court wouldnt have gone this far against 20000 subscribers and 300 + employees if there is no gravity in this. Most of the ministers and even supreme court judges are subscribers to CBN and they wouldnt let these baluballas take them for a ride.

I never thought that this blog is dedicated for this much of idiots who do not resist reliable information and to see all the sides of the story before jumping onto conclutions.

I never accused of cbnsat having LTTE connections. I just presented the facts so we could see the other side of the story we havn't heard from anyone. It's upto the governement or who ever in charge to look for the evidence or do whatever legally.

And the 13.2 billion figure is the initial investment. Some idiot have said it's 1 billion. What a shame to not to know the facts. Even to start a terrestrial tv channel with a single transmitter it would cost more than LKR 1 billion.

The borrowings from HSBC came just few days before the shut down. That has nothing to do with the investigations.

WHAT THEY NEED TO PROVE IS THAT WHO ARE THE INVESTORS AND HOW THEY GOT 13.2 BILLION RUPEES AT THE START.

This is what it was asked from them in court. They have said borrowings from sister companies and foriegn investments. Only about 3 billion is borrowed from the sister companies.

Just show from where all the other money flowed in. It's a simple question. Why can't they answer.

My dear friends please look into this problem independantly. You have accused me of being on the gov side. But remember being at the cbnsat side is also the same. To see the clear picture you have to be in the middle.

I'm also in trouble personally as i have bought the connection from cbnsat just a couple of months before the shutdown and now i'm not in a position to even buy another connection.

I suspect cbnsat has a huge unseen funding from the back. Otherwise will a company survive with all these expenses for 4 long months.

Salaries for 300+ employees
Rentals for business premises
Rentals for satellite transponders
Expenses of the court cases

All these are another few millions of rupees per month.

HOW DID THIS MONEY CAME IN WITHOUT ANY INCOME FOR 4 MONTHS !!!!

Before accusing me think about these !!!!!!!!!

Do you have answers for these ??????????

They have said alternative funding.

What is this alternative ??????

Why can't cbnsat reveal it ??????

I think they should sell the business and take their hands off. Otherwise they will be deep shit at the expense of ours !!!!!!

Actually this job is not ours. This is upto law enforcing authorities. According to my knowledge Q no.1 is been asked and no proper answer is been given.

Q no.2 and 3 aregood questions where no one ever asked !!!!

Actually when you go on the web and search there is no company as "Asian broadband networks"

So it could be a fake company because even a small company will have a website nowadays and it's hard to beleive they are running the business without a website ???

And normally when you have a such international link it will show in company website. (Ex:- On the Dialog site it shows it's a Telekom Malaysia company)
But we don't see anything as such on the cbnsat website.

These are the real things we have to see.

Hey Rajarata it is because of people like you that Sri Lanka is not improving and you have no appreciation for people who tried to introduce new technology for us.

There are 300 employees working at CBNSat, I know that since I have a friend working there.

Asia Broadband Networks is not a fake company and I checked whether it is true from a friend who visited Hong Kong recently.

You can point fingers at anyone saying that they are LTTE. Just like the Government does.

Asian Broadband Network is just a small partner for CBNsat and not a major one in the case of Dialog and Telekom Malaysia.

CBNsat is more a Sri Lankan company than Dialog, SLT and some other companies.

I have a feeling that "Rajarata", "Sanju1975" and "MIKE" are the same person or some people who think all Tamils are traitors.

In fact it is us Sinhalese who are traitors. Do the tamils give houses on rent to LTTE suicide bombers. No they do not. It is us the wonderful Sinhala race that gives suicide bombers our houses on rent for rates such as Rs 25,000/= in greed for money.

"Rajarata", "Sanju1975" and "MIKE" get the fuck out of this blog without disgracing Sri Lanka.

Ado Dude,

You are disgusting. You are the one who disgrace the country by saying sinhalese are traitors.

In your post there is only bull shit. No facts or anything.

Can you answer the Q's raised by us with the facts ??????

At least try to get ans to these Q's from your boss while giving your dums ass to him.

Who the hell are you to tell us to get out of this blog ?????
This is a open forum and everyone can come and engage in a productive dialog.

It may be a pain and we know that it is not as easy as giving your ass to cbnsat.

We are subscribers of cbnsat but at the same time we do not like we being fucked by cbnsat. If you like to give your ass that's your wish. And you are the who is selling your country for Rs. 17,000 to just watch tv.

You are welcome to answer our Q's professionaly with the facts you have.

And dude did you ask about this 13.2 billion things sanju is talking about.

Ask your frend at CBNsat and confirm as we dont have anyone to get info.

So guys the friend of DUDE who visited Hong Kong has said that there is a company called "Asian Broadband Network" and for him to remember so clearly it must be something big as "DIALOG" down here, very interesting that they dont have a web site.

What has happened to this blog!!

People accusing each other of this and that....its pathetic.

Admin, can we just stick to the real situation and genuine information.

We are all in the same boat, and until we hear the final decision that's how it is going to be.

SO, unless you have some real TRUTHFUL information....keep it to yourself.

I'm sure i am not the only one sick of all this BULLSHIT!

Thanks

Dear Expat Subscriber,

If you are truly sick of this bullshit why don't you fly to your country and live a good life.

Hey man don't interfere in our problems alright ?????? We'll sort it out.

If you are sick you have an option. But what do we have ????

What is genuine and what is not ???

Who will decide that ????

Don't think that all the things which you can't beleive is not true. There must be something wrong from the cbnsat side too for them to be in this mess.

What do you have to tell about this "Asian Broadband Networks"

Where it is ?????

Anybody who knows their contacts or web site please post it on the blog.

My dear Blog Admin,

Why did you enabled moderation all of a sudden. You don't like to hear the other side of the story ???

Then what is the point of having a forum if you can't post different views ????????

MY DEAR FELLOW BLOGEERS,

STILL YOU DON'T HAVE A CLEAR ANSWER FOR ANY QUESTION I ASKED. ALL WHAT YOU CAN DO IS PERSONAL MUD SLINGING ON ME.

WHY CAN'T YOU GUYS TELL HOW MUCH AND WHO HAVE INVESTED IN CBNSAT ??

AND WHERE THE HELL IS "ASIAN BROADBAND NETWORKS" ??????

AT LEAST ANSWER THE SECOND QUESTION WHICH IS A VERY BASIC ONE.

THE INTELLIGENT THING IS NOT TO SLING MUD ON ME. BUT ASK FROM THE PEOPLE YOU KNOW AT CBNSAT THESE Q'S !!!!!

THEN YOU WILL REALISE EVEN THEY DON'T HAVE A CLEAR ANSWER FOR US.
WHAT MATTERS TO ME IS THAT WE HAVE PAID THEM RS. 17,000 TO GET A SERVICE AND CBNSAT HAVE FOOLED US ALL.

THIS CANT GO ON LIKE THIS !!!!!

THERE SHOULD BE AN END !!!!!!

GIVE US THE SERVICE BACK WITHOUT LYING ALL OVER !!!!!!!!!!

Now only the Sri Lankan Government is formulating procedures to issue DTH licences. CBN has crept into the scene when there was no regulation, which is illegal. Now they have to wait in the line to get the license like any other DTH license seeker. Ideally only SLT and Rupavahini should be given licenses to operate for atleast 3-5 years. Remember the Telco sector. SLT had a monopoly for a very long time until the deregulation came. SLT should dominate the market like in Telco sector. SLT money goes to boost the govt income which in turn will help in country's development.

Now beside their illegal and unethical operation, the CBN has been found to have LTTE connections.

mmm... It is going to be very difficult for them to get a license if not impossible.
