Alf you were right on the money about LBN. Congrats LBN.

Over the weekend I talked to a prominant publisher and that is the same sentiments expressed by that person.
LBN will probably get their license by end of the month or OCt. CBNSat is too much of a business threat to those with ulterior motives who are closer to HE. So in simple Sri Lankan style, they will wipe the competition out by screwing them left right and center.
Sad but its true. Its just the way things are done here in mother Lanka.
That is why LBN management kept quite all along. They were probably told up front that they had to suffer a little bit, in order to kick CBNSat out. So they kept quite and followed the orders.
Looking back, maybe CBNSat should have done the same, and kissed some sorry butts and kissed up to whoever. As sorry as it may sound, it just seems the only way in beautiful lanka.
Just look at what they are doing to LIOC!
They dont seems to give a shit about foreign investments or collaborations. If it hurts their pockets, they will do anything and everything to get rid of them.

So may you rest in peace CBNSat.
I will just resort to watching DVDs and maybe get a Indian Sat connection. Comet does not give out any more new connections and even if LBN starts back, it does not serve where I live.
I will not get SATnet on principal, even if they offer it free.

Nice knowing you CBNSat. I will use the dish for cooking chinese food.

CONGRATS LBN and LBN customers!

Guys. It is very encouraging to see many of you being very hopeful. So were I, at the beginning. But the many twists and turns that this fiasco has gone through during the last 3 months, and judging by the way how many other issues have been handled(or mishandled)by the current regime, I am not going to fool myself anymore.(of course the military victories in the North and the East will give them a free ticket to do anything they want with this country and its citizens rights). As I said in my last post, I have pretty much given up hope on getting back CBNSat. Its a deep rooted case (manipulated by greedy, ruthless, merciless cannibals) thats way out control from the powers of most of us.
So let us all make a public appearance with our dish and decorder in hand, set up a large bonfire in front of the president, and throw the equipment into the fire, and ask him if he(and his friends) would be happy then. A public end to CBNSat.
After that we can assure HE that we will all go to our homes and only watch Rupavahini and ITN from that day forward. What a beautiful communist nation we would be! That would make them all very happy, while they watch the best of satellite and cable TV(but not the ordinary tax paying citizens like us).
Your excellency(and your friends) I challenge you to prove my predictions wrong! What a pleasant surprise it would be!!

Good Bye CBNSat!!!

I totally agree with CABLEGUY. This is heading no where and CBNSat is almost crush now. It's only some more time they need.

The way this wntire episode washandled by the Respective management of CBNSat from the begining is totally wrong.

I am already looking for an alternative way to get the infotainment we had earlier.

Dear DUDE

In a just society, everything that you point out should happen. I dont have to remind you that the regime that we are dealing with right now in SL is far..far away from fairness and proper justice. Our fight would be like "David and Goliath".

I am not blaming or pointing fingers at CBN management. They did what any law abiding citizen in this country would do. For that, they must be thanked and commended. Only problem was, that they forgot what kind of regime we are under right now and followed the proepr books. Now do I need to explain how immeterial that is in this country.

After all we have leader who twists, turns, mutilates, and changes the laws and rulings to fit his(and his friends) desires. So the point is, we should all just follow our leader and live a lawless life that suits each individuals desire. Not to worry about a country or a society as a whole. By trying to do just that, CBNSat got fucked.

Alf, please inform us of any other ways that we can get infortainment, other than ShitNet(better known as SATnet).

Here is a thought!!!!
If we really want to be revengeful and get back at these crooks, lets find out what businesses or companies Huluballa and others own and start a campaign to get people to boycott these businesses. That would be people power that no one would be able to stop.
Then again, "vairiyen vairaya nosansindey". Do we need to get down to the dirty, low levels as these crooks?
Think about it.

So LBN will be back, as it was all part of a master plan. As for CBN, its Adios..Amigos. because shutting down CBN is part of the bigger plan.
Here is a title for a bestseller:
"How to successfully invest in Sri Lanka: Two Case Studies: LIOC and CBNSat.

I have talked to one of the employees working with CBNsat and asked him why don't they do anything to take some actions as employees. This is what he has told me.

The management has told them not to provoke the authorities by going public or holding protest.

In other words (I could explain it in Sinhala better with suitable words :) ) they have to sit and wait till the authorities do what they want!

dear all
dont think the president will reply for the request made by cbn sat or the victims. how come LBN got permission to transmit while CBN hasn't

Max Payne said...

I am sure about nothing but 1 thing. If they provide 100 free ShitNet connections with all the possible channels in this world to me, Not Even My Dog Is Going to get ShitNet even it is from another DOg I'am telling this to Every one and U SHOULD DO THE SAME for the sake of poor people who doesn't know about Huluballa.

Max Payne said...

Actually huluballa is a worst businessman. I mean instead of seeying the next 10 years, he only thinks about today and do all the crap which in retun make his business worst. I mean is this bad image in shitnet is going to end? I don't think so.

Now their main plan is not going to work which is turning CBNsat customers to shitnet. And since most of the people know how they do business, they wont get shitnet at any circumstances. So it's bad for shitnet if these foolish people can think properly.

I mean instead of closing CBNsat, if they came up with more channels and less charges I 'am sure more and more people would've bought it. But no sir, how come these **** can think of such a better idea. Just fire up their tails.

No wonder sri lanka is in the 89th place according to Doing Business report.

A licence for a cable tv station should be approved by the president of the country?

cableguy said...

Very Good Point cbnsatcustomer!

Our executive President has a very responsible job of running this country based on the mandate given to him by the people (remember I said "by the people" NOT by a few jokers around him, even though these crooks would have convinced the PREZ that they won the election for him).
Now, as the Executive President, he has a lot of responsibilities towards the people of this country. But as a human being, he can only do so much.
So why in the world is he getting involved in the issuance of TV licences in the first place? Shouldn't he be busy doing a lot more important work for the country? Whats next? Is he going to handover forms at the passport office? Because he seems to think that he has to get involved in every mundane task to run this country.
Only in Sri lanka will you find a simple task such as issuance of TV license also has to go thru the President.
I am surprised that we are not the last on that list of countries for Doing Business.

cableguy said...

Isnt it funny that a simple task as approving a Cable TV license has to be done by the president. Doesn't anybody else work in this country? Does he have to do everything?

Now let me answer my own questions.
Of course the president has to approve everything. He is the representative of the people. Next he will be approving your annual leave, sick leave and even the day to day tasks. He is the SUPERPREZ, the PRESIDENATOR, the IRON MAN. He can do it all.
Thats why he has to approve the TV station licence. He will probably also get involved in issuing dog licenses.

Hey,

If CBNSat closes down I'm going to take my dish and receiver and leave it outside the parliament of the socialist pseudo-democratic republic of sri lanka.

I suggest you all do the same, to add more 'effect'.

Thanks,
This is everybody's friend (and thus everybody's enemy as it goes in this country) machang.

I anyway have given up my hope becuase of the way CBNSat handled this entire fiesco. I wish they would announce bankrupt or closure of operations soon cause then we can fully make our mind to forget about CBNSat. Otherwise they give us glipmse of hope and we as fools look forward for it to come to reality which will never happen.

I hope and wish this SC hearing would be the final and a dicision will be given whether CBNSat will be allowed to operate or not.

Commenting on the Lakhanda news article I wish to know what are the qualifications and the standerds to operate a sattelite tv station?? These arguments are all bull shit.

As i said earlier best thing CBNSat could do is take the business to Maldives and start operations. Then no one can poke their fingers.

THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN SRI LANKA IS RULED BY UNQUALIFIED PEOPLE

Max Payne said...

yeah Dini, but the thing is most of sri lankans are unintelligent. Only a few can think properly and vote. Some vote to get their work done. So in this case, they vote for anybody who can be used to get their work done. Some vote for their lunch packetd or vodca bottles. Farmers don't care about intelligence and vote for the cheapest Uriya or compost. Some doesn't vote.

So ultimately, not the most intelligent openion is going to be selected. Thats the problem.

Since most of the sri lankans can be bought, we see this problem here in Sri lanka than other countriese. U find most of the people in other countriese, they obey their word, and one word.

But unfortunately most of the sri lankans can't remember the word they just said.!!

Looser said...

What are u talking about now? Are you planning to changing the government? Bullshit.

What is heppening to CBNSat?

It looks all over now as per the Lakhanda.

I think as per "Mahinda Chinthanaya" CBNSat will be closed. And only HE's Henchman can do Business in Sri Lanka as per "Mahinda Chinthanaya"

Alf said...

Blog Admin,

Can you write to CBNSat management and ask for some information regarding what they are planning and doing??

cableguy said...

Dear CBNSat Management

What you did or did not, or what could have been done etc..etc.. is all water under the bridge now. The executive presidency is way too powerful and it looks like there is no hope for you to carry out your business in this country. But remember one thing! You will continue to have close to 20,000 customers, if you decide to go to another country and transmit. You will not have to spend on marketing for these 20,000. You will also be exempt from all the garbage involved in operating from SL. So we humbly beg of you to take your operation out of the country, and keep us all as subscribers and give us the quality infotaintment that you have been providing.
Of course the authorities will do everything they can to stop you from taking your own equipment out of the country. But I am sure you can use BOI and foreign investor connections to work that out. If that fails and you have to purchase everything all over, it would be still worth it. As I said earlier, you already have a huge customer base. Plus countries like Maldives are waiting with their arms reached out to absorb new technologies(unlike the backward thinking lankan govnt). So please please save us all from being forced into SATNets and the sorts and reward us for standing by you all this time.
As for the plight of over 300 employees who will soon become jobless if CBN is shut down, we are very sorry for them. The sad plight of over 300 families should be enough to curse not only these crooks who did this to you but their children too. Whatever their beliefs are, these crooks and their families will rot in hell...or reborn as cockroaches and get whacked over and over again.

You dont have to reply to this blog. You know what to do, and you know how to get in touch with us. This blog is infested with spies so be careful!

Thank You.
May justice and fairness prevail in some form or the other.

Because very soon CBNSat will be a non entity.

I guess this guy is very young, the “coke” generation. Who will sell his country to get a cable connection!!

And he is commenting on LOIC! The poor guy does not know that the Indians screwed him (us) with our own money, and seems comfortable bending down! At least the government had the guts to tell them off!

DO NOT PATRONISE LOIC!!!!!!
