Postponed once again..........

Well at least we are not surprised. According to unofficial reports the CBNsat supreme court case has been postponed to November 6th 2006.

According to these reports the reason for postponement is that the MoD wants to carry out further evaluation. It makes us wonder how we can trust the reports given by the MoD regarding the present war when they cannot be honest with a simple thing such as CBNsat. We wonder whether all the reports that we get from the front lines are all real. Are their conclusions on all the abductions and killings real? Are the casualty figures real?

We are beginning to have doubts on all the reports released by the government since they seem to be a very corrupted set of people, who are bent on protecting themselves and their henchmen. So maybe all what we hear about the war is nothing but a bunch of lies.

Coming back to CBNsat we are getting unconfirmed reports that they have requested court to uplink via SLRC. SLRC's involvement in this case is questionable and whether they will agree to allow CBNsat to uplink is also not certain. However it should be mentioned here that for money anyone can do anything so since they will be paying SLRC money for uplinking who knows they might just do it.

We would like to remind that the information received so far about the date of postponement and the request by CBNsat regarding SLRC is still unconfirmed. Please update us with the confirmed reports as the day progresses.

Yes its postponed to the 6TH November after deliberation as CJ wanted 2 months.

Correction,The MOD issue didnt come up today and it was the media ministry who wanted two months to evaluate(Signature & Name differance,Channel partners etc).

The SLRC issue has to be discussed and and then come to a conclusion as the CJ gave only a sugestion and not an order.Further it was revealed that Sri Lanka Telecom has been issued with a licence for cable & sattelite TV and it seems to be the first of its kind with the new regulations.

Licence for SLT? interesting.. Abewardena hates SLT..

my opinion is to atleast get SLT's support and start operations rather than incurring costs and keeping operations a standstill.

May be SLT is eying at SLRC Rupavahini World channel.

I think the refunds are out guys(Though youll have differant of opnians),Its supposed to be on the agreement.I verified from a leading UNP politician and lawyer about this when i met him at a function (He was with owner of LBN),and he said that the agreement signed by us includes a clause which says something as the closure or shutdown due to government regulations or order will not qualify for a refund.

Please go through the agreement and clarify as I have misplaced my one.

THE ONLY OPTION SEEMS TO BE SOMEONE LIKE SLT TAKING OVER THE WHOLE OPERATION (YES IT WAS ALSO MENTIONED BY THE TRC LAWYERS THAT SLT IS THE FIRST TO BE ISSUED WITH THE NEW LICENCE)

Alf said...

As per the agreement we have signed, we cannot obtain a refund.

Since CBNSat has not been proven guilty by Governement for the said wrong doings, may be we can do something against that.

Also if the Government is saying that CBNSat has not complied with the regulations then CBNSat has to face the consequences. THEY HAVE LIED TO THE CUSTOMERS AND HAS SIGNED AN AGREEMENT WITHOUT OBLIGING TO GOVERNMENT REGULATIONS.

Why can't these foolish lawyers of CBNSat request to start operations for existing customers till they have been proven guilty??

What they are trying now is to comply with all the bloody regulations newly developed by the Government.

I think it's time for the Customer unite to take some action. Lets get some more subscribers joined in and collect some funds and file a FR case. Lets put a paper ad and request all the CBNSat customers to rally together.

I think we should not fight for CBNSAt but for our rights as Customers. If CBNSat have fooled us they should be penalised and if the Regulatory bodies have fooled us they should be exposed.

Yesterday 8pm Rupavahini news said some bullshit regarding CBNSat. it was something like CJ said if it was related to national security, he had some concerns and secretary of media ministry's a respectable person and they had to follow the normal procedure when giving licences

Considering national security is vital for green light to Satellite TV stations

The Supreme Court is of the view that drawing government’s attention to national security in granting permission for the maintenance of a satellite TV service is reasonable.

Chief Justice Sarath N. Silva made this reference, when a petition filed by CBNsat was taken up for hearing. The Counsel appearing on behalf of CBNsat said information given by the Secretary to the Media Ministry in relation to the issue of a permit, cannot be accepted. In response, the Chief Justice said it is unreasonable to make allegations against the Secretary, who is an experienced public officer. The Chief Justice pointed out that reasonable time should be given to consider the issue of a permit to the related company, according to the normal procedure.

Prabath what we meant was that if they cannot be honest about this CBNsat matter, how can they be honest about the war, we did not want to support anyone. It is suspicious to note whether all these things we hear from the MoD are true or not. If they cannot be honest about a simple matter such as cable tv and are being dishonest due to the influence of these henchmen of politicians, how can they be trusted when it comes to the war. They maybe acting according to the henchmen in reporting the war too or may be fighting the war according to the whims and fancies of the henchmen.

Hopefully this is not happening with regards to the war but nothing is impossible since these people are extemely corrupt.

The MOD offcials may be corrupt. But our army heroes are not. The many victories of eelam war 4 were acheived by the unparallaed leadership of army commander Gen Sarath Fonseka. The heroic army soldiers who give their life to protect the country are discredited by cowards at the MOD who bully fellow countrymen in order to run their personal agendas (Ex -Lakshman Hulugalle). HE please remove the arseholes from MOD and let the brave soldiers continue their victorious path towards eradication of LTTE.
