The Ball is in your courts Your Honour Chief Justice

Today (23rd Aug) CBNSat will be having their Supreme Court hearing. According to the previous Supreme Court hearing the licensing issues will have to be finalised by today. As of now we are getting reports that the highly efficient Media Ministry has not done anything. This shows the respect that they have for the law in this country. They obviously think that thay are above the law.

We know that the Chief Justice has issued some landmark verdicts and we hope that the same will apply once again. The Media Ministry asks for one month at each court hearing to issue the license and this is nothing but a ploy to drive the company bankrupt.

We demand that even if the license is issued or not today we want CBNSat to be back on air from today. The hanky panky of the Media Ministry must stop. Your Honour Chief Justice we request you to rule that CBNSat should start operations immediately and please take stern action against the officials who are holding ministerial posts since they are holding such posts because the people voted them into power.

Sir, you are the only one who can end this case that has been instigated by corrupt officials.

We would like to request all our readers to keep us posted on the time of todays hearing and also update us on the result of todays hearing.

Anybody having any idea about the court hearing time ?

ROMESH said...

The hearing is at 10.00AM and a representative from the subscriber unit is already there to watch the outcome,If this is dragged further than today it shows that the head of the government is preasurizing to delay and destroy CBNsat,so that his buddy Abeywardena can cash on this business.

This the the dirty work that is taking place in this country

dini said...

it's probably in the afternoon.

to me, the details are still sketchy about the verdict on the 3rd of august. the media ministry guys must be confident abou something. i guess we'll have to wait and see.

Given the country situ these rougues could do anything. they dont care about the law, even the law is afraid of these 'forces'.

Damn good for us 'lankans'

prmo said...

Romesh is correct,The case is at 10.00AM and it would proceeding at the moment,Lisura is at the courts.

Pandura - Yes, these forces are right at the top and we have reliable information of that.

if things don't turn out good today for CBNSat, that means no individual can obtain justice in this country if it involves the government!!

HOPE FOR THE BEST- AND EXPECT THE WORST- YOU CAN NEVER BE SUSRE OF THINGS IN SRI LANKA-

THE CJ CAN CHANGE TOO--- AND IT HAS HAPPENED BEFORE- HE IS THE ONE WHO WAS CHANDRIKA'S BEST BUDDY (AND WAS APPOINTEE BY CHANDRIKA) AND THEN GAVE A RULING AGAINST HER WHICH CUT HER TERM SHORT AND PAVED THE WAY FOR THE CURRENT JOKER (WHO'S STOOGES ARE HULU AND ABEY)

SO ANYONE CAN BE A JUDAS!
HOPE HE WILL UPHOLD JUSTICE THIS TIME ROUND!

Rob said...

Just called CBN (at 1145am). They confirmed me court session actually started at 1100 am today and still proceeding. They are in a very positive mode, lets wait and see.

dini said...

as notbloodyfooled said, if the documents are ready, things should be fine.

and godaya, i think the CJ held justice over cronism in CBK's term case. therefore, we could assume that he is not the person for political affiliations.

ROMESH said...

dee.panadura said...

Is there a postponement?

If so for what reason?

ROMESH said...

18th is nearly a month away. i think basically we'll have to accept the inevitable. no justice! the hearing on the 18th is just a formality i believe. the ministry of defence is going to say, 'yes it is a threat to national security, due to bla bla bla'

dini said...

conspiracy at it's best.

This is a clear indication that the assholes at the government are doing the same what happened in 83 towards Tamils. Vindicating a race/individuals without any regards or respect. The ultimate results are enjoyed today. What these government assholes are doing will be felt in very near future. Then it may be very late (again as we are experiencing).

God bless this fucking shit hole country, if he can ? I doubt, because we have so many powerful gods governing this country. FUCK THEM ALL.

Honorable CJ, we thought you were at the helm of the trinity of this country (Judiciary, Parliament and Presidency). May be the latter has influenced your independence.

dee.panadura said...

bloody tigers gone bonkers too

placing bombs in places where normal civilials like you and me get killed instead of the bloody rougues.

Gosh i wish these buggers disintegrate, their entire generations. everything

amal said...

Guys I think they have turned this case on it's head .......
This whole issue will head into a different dimension now.......
Their whole argument will be about the ownership of the CBN... since he is Tamil they will raise the issues such as funding LTTE and other crap.......
I am afraid guys I have to say situation is very bleak to me....
this will go on for some time and
they might even shut the CBN..(which they wanted from the right beginning).........................

totally dissapointed about how corrupt our institutions are from top to the bottom, you cant do simple gentleman business or seek redress in courts of law either.

Why is our system so politicised that it cant see beyond fantasy and whims of highly connected corrupt individuals.

why some rules are been openly flouted by these individuals and not been punished and others are victimaised.isnt it be one rule governing all similar transactions.

is justice as blind as the lady of justice, what to expect from small timers and crooks when the biggest enjoy political patronage.why have we elected illerates to places wheres a man with a spine is needed to do the work.

so many Y`s but no solution in sight as sep 18 will be another day,why contempt of court only for few and not when its openly flouted by the powerful.

I am totally disgusted with the situation and where our country is heading.

hush said...

we need our intelligence sources for real threats to the country and not work for fantasy of corrupt individuals. They are short of staff to do their current job without adding unnecessary filing of reports where time can be better spent for security of the country.

cut the bloody root where the LTTE transmissions is uplinked rather than looking to take a leaf out of a branch.

Remember the equipment came through the airport through legal channels and sent to wanni for LTTE.

innocent CBN is getting punished for reasons only known to hulla and abey and for which they dont have bloody proof. They should go through the evidence ordinance and see what proof is defined as..

can write a book on this...heavens open up and see the injustice and set things right ...

Palitha Galappaththi said...

CJ would have enjoyed last night with a chick supplied by Abey and Hulla hence the verdict.

Just a different note,

I recently went to a nearby botique. i was awaiting my turn to purchase when the fat lady of the shop came wrapping something for somebody and screaming in a shreiky voice-

" okawa satakaye geta gahala, ellanna ona balke" ,

i was shocked for once and quietly purchased what i wanted and went my way wondering weather the slandering was for me or something .

I now realise people from all walks of life have their own grievences.

lady from 'kade' screams

we are blogging here.

Sri Lanka 'a land like no other'

lil_birdy said...

I wonder if they have a heart? THey dont have brains for sure.... but atleast a heart?

are we asking for too much? if cbn sat has agreed to corporate and allow any number of cops to keep screening every program, every minute, why is it still a national security issue?

i hear that gothabey has been poisoned by a lady actress that cbnsat is a threat to national security. To top it she has got together with hulla abey clan and demonstrated at her house by puting a decorder from pettah the ltte channel. but as usual, no brains, has looked out, seen cbn dish, and looked in and saw cbn decorder and thought it was from cbn! the truth is the cheap decorder was kept beside and was connected to the tv!

how can anyone explain this? such drama to ruin a successful company! just because they cant fight competition on fair grounds!

matrix said...

As usual …never ending story .. Best lawyers of CBN .. this shows your professionalism…Are you STILL dancing according to the GOV tune

lil_birdy said...

cant cbn sat get some good chicks for cj?

lil_birdy said...

guess every apprearance pays well for the lawyers.... so why struggle?

kalu said...

guys, this is high time to demand for a refund of what we paid to CBNSAT. seems they are not capable of winning this war and their lawyers are fuckedup too. seems only the subscribers are fighting hard to put them back in action.
Why should we suffer even after paying so much hard earned money?.

ROMESH said...

Its not worth talking about the whole issue and neither will i regret if i loose my 17,900/-.

What i am realy worried about is the employees numbering over 300 and the huge investment CBNsat made.

ParanoidJackass said...

Ohhh my God... when will this stop..!!

Again they have been successful of shattering the dream of all CBNSat customers. It has been over 2 months of frustration and disappointment and it continues.

I was looking forward to this day for some hope. Result - Disappointment.

Why can't they carryout there investigation or what ever after they let CBNSat resume operation. I'm seriously confused. Well the government says that there is no discrimination and its a democratic country and crap. Hah..!! What do u call this....? all these problems are because the owner of CBN is a Tamil. Bullshit... !!

Ok now they are waiting for an intelligent report from the defense ministry. And when they don't find anything, they will keep on asking for time and reports from other ministries. U never know. These fuckers are capable of do that. ( even a report from the water board... Hee heee)

If I'm not mistaken, The President him self had told the Media ministry to give the license, etc... what happened to that. So all in all, these Fuckers don't care of what the CJ or the precedent says. I had so much of respect for the CJ but it's all gone.

Guess what..! I'm happy in away to know that there are people (CBNSat Subscriber Unit) who will fight for our rights and to be apart of it even though I'm not directly involved. But I will give my fullest support to CBNSat and the CBNSat Subscriber Unit.

The Blog Admin. thank you for initiating having a forum as such.

Lisura you have done a good job

#We have the Best lawyers#
They also need an income........
So we have to wait…be patient
We have a highly qualified & professional management which they do not want to consider a secondary option to go on AIR..

Note: At the moment we do not practise disaster recovery & company/technology best practices.. Actually we thought customers will make a VOICE! Not our professional lawyers

ParanoidJackass said...

All bad things happen to good people..

matrix said...

Now it is high time to pressure the CBN management for a refund, since up to now with there professional lawyers they couldn’t do any thing. Anything AT ALL

We waited for so long & the story is going on …& on……….
Now we should start watching Siras TV (Chevaan’s (chevaand@mastsl.com) channel) & TV LANKA …

sameera said...

anyway now my idea is to publish the injustice story in newspapers and conduct some good programmes telling this bloody story in tv channels like Sirasa tv. becos Only the subscribers knows that d CBNsat is facing such a prob...

we have to make this a big controversial in the country.. then only the authorities will take immediate action to solve..

dish said...

I agree with matrix. We have waited enough time now. Now we need to ask for refunds and need to force banks to waive of remaining installments for 0% schemes

ParanoidJackass said...

I totally agree.

Why can't CBNSat have a press conference where the CBNSat Management and the CBNSat Subscriber Unit whit some representatives.

As far as I know only TNL TV had programs regarding this problem.

Why are the other private TV Channels not doing anything. The best would be to have a press conference. I don't know how practical it is to have a press conference with the media officials. However, CBNSat should have a press conference and educate and spred the news abut the situation to everyone.

Come to think of it, It has been over 2 months and how does CBNSat run this business with out any revenue?.

dee.panadura said...

correct,

why not CBN organize a press conference? im sure there are many PR companies who would do so.

This is not illegal, nobody can prevent it.

there the pgeneral public can be made aware of the unethical practices of the ministries and our so called 'protectors'

there the general public could be made aware of llicit transmissions such as SATNET and guard people agaist falling prey to them.

CBN over to you

ParanoidJackass said...

If there is a possibility of having a TV program, more like a discussion with CBNSat Management and the CBNSat Subscriber Unit, the best person would be Lasantha Wikramathunga. He is good when it comes to controversial and issues like these.

matrix said...

PRESS CONFERENCE

This is a really good idea.
CBNSat Management & the CBNSat Subscriber Unit should get together & do a press conference.
Get-together guys …Act fast ……At least we (not the CBN lawyers) should be able to do something behalf of CBN

cableguy said...

What a beautifully crafted conspiracy. They are all in it together. CJ, HE, Minister. Maybe the CBNSat lawyers were on their side too.
Couldn't the bloody lawyers have fought harder without accepting the lame excuse. National Security my ass!! We have so much more serious national security issues than CBNSat. In fact CBNSat will help security by keeping the masses entertained, and in their homes and out of trouble.
Before using this national security crap on CBNSat, these bastards must get the citizen alert and neighborhood watch through the 119 systems in proper place. That way the Dickmans Rd and the Green Path bombs could have been avoided, if the authorities took seriously the calls they got from citizens. Instead, our CID is busy writing reports to bring down a peaceful TV service.
I think our present rulers and justice system gives new meaning to a "Failed State". So dear HE, dont fight the world when they call us a failed state. You and your goondas are making our beautiful mother lanka into a failed state.
God Bless Sri Lanka!

hush said...

agree too that press conference should be held to publise the matter and expose the irregularities of the institutions concerned.

Am sure ,if you throw in a cocktail afterwards there will be houseful crowd from all electronic and print media.

This is vital to get the exposure beyond the aggrieved customers and employees of CBNsat and put things into prospective.

enough of this nice shit that CBN had resorted to as nice will not work in our country only expose and aggressive will, send invites to all subcribers to participate.

now its time to work on prolonged campaign from all fronts, get the message out about the petition to all subcribers by a letter or something.am sure out of 20000 +subcribers even if 10% attend will be a massive turnout.

its time to get really working on it...

I am no pessimist, but I happen to know a little bit of happenings at Hultsdorp. I myself was in COurt No. 502 where the CJ sit but had to come off before 11am (the usual time he comes- when the other appelate courts start work around 10!)

The post I made was before I got to know of the outcome of todays sitting.

I had this gut feeling- and I have witnessed how the CJ "turns" when he gets a signal from the "right" pesrson. I am not making any allegation with respect to the CBN thing- but you can never be sure as he had been completely differen to the last days sitting.

DINI,(Re- your coment"and godaya, i think the CJ held justice over cronism in CBK's term case")- I think I stand vindicated!
