CBNSat Test Transmission to commence today (11th Aug)

We are receiving reports that CBNSat will be carrying out test transmissions commencing today. Although the information is not very clear, we hear that the testing will be carried out internally and some other information suggests that some channels may be visible.

Well we hope the CBNSat customers who are at home or have connections in their offices will keep us updated on the status. Please inform us even if there is a signal received by the decoder. Initial information suggested that a message will be sent to the decoder inbox.

However it is left to be seen, what type of testing will be carried out. Since CBNSat has already been cleared by SLRC then we hope that CBNSat will be issued the license as soon as possible. Just a thought since SLRC wants to have world class coverage coverage of the SAF Games (commencing on Aug 18th), we feel that issuing the license to CBNSat and getting their assistance to cover the SAF Games would ensure a world class coverage of the games through CBNSat's modern technology. Well hopefully the authorities will consider this too.

We would like our readers to keep us updated as the day progresses and right throughout the weekend.

We missed a GOLDEN opportunity to show the Kandy Esala Perahera, Kataragama Esala Perehara LIVE to the world. If CBN was active, ITN and Rupavahini could have easily done this without a cost. Unfortunately, our crooked political leaders are so narrow minded and indulge in petty politics, country looses in the bigger arena. Rupavahini and ITN carried webcasts of the event, and we all know the internet speed.

No i hear they are defeneitly not going to do a full scale test transmission and will only do whatever they are doing internaly as they are more concerned in getting the full transmission back by(15.08.2006 or 23.08.2006)

With the clearance from SLRC and the supreme court order and with no charges the magistrate will have no other option but to give the green light and the Media Ministry,TRC,CID will not be able to come up with their flimsy excuses as i hear it will amount to contempt of court(since the order has been given by the highest juristiction).

Test transmission- Green light is on; still the screen indicates that “E16 service is currently scrambled”. So far none of the channels are visible. 1 PM 11th August 2006.

Thank you

I dont think will have to stay as far as 23/08 and 15/08 should be realistic (CBN has their reasons to give the latter date) and the way things are unfolding we realy should be optimestic of 15/08.

Either of the dates,We hope that CBN will be back with a bang.

Any news about Mr.B A C Baluwardena who deprived us of quality entertainment. He must be destroying the tea trade when he found out that he and Huluballa cannot mislead the CBN and LBN customers.

SATnet is contiouniously trying to sell their connections and unfortunatly no one is interested in them.

He's currently hiding behind a Satellite Earth Station on electroteks building. Hope the asshole gets struck by lightning.

Quite correct LST,and i saw in the Sunday Times the editor has blasted HULUBALLA on some denial and clarification he sought from the paper.

I dont know why these papers doesnt question the fact that He is the Director of Media Centre for National Security while being the chairman of SATnet.
