Taking a break from our regular posts about the CBNSat court case we have noticed that many of you are interested to know, what CBNSat is going to give for it's customers who waited patiently for these few months.
We are getting reports that CBNSat will relaunch with the Zee Package and Disney Channel (this is not confirmed) and will later be adding the Star Package and Ten Sports. Earlier we have had numerous requests from people who are waiting for CBNSat to add God Tv to their line up in order to purchase connections.
It is a well known fact that God TV and other religious channels are available on all the other Cable TV companies in Sri Lanks except on CBNSat and Comet Cable. We have reliable reports that Comet Cable does not include religious channels due to limited channel capacity.
So from our point of view we think CBNSat should include God TV and the other religious channels should be available on CBNSat since as a reader has mentioned CBNSat can keep the channel scrambled and only unscramble it for the people who want to view it. This will keep it from offending anyone and also the CBNSat competitor Satnet's Dish TV also has God TV on their lineup.
So we would like to know what you think regarding this subject?
The Magisterial Court hearing on CBNSat will be held tomorrow (15th) and does anyone know whether CBNSat has already met with the TRC and Media Ministry and if so, what was the outcome of the meeting? CBNSat is of course very confident of being on air on 23rd Aug 2006 or before that.

YES ! ALISON, PRMO AND LST IS CORRECT ! CBN SHOULD NOT TRY TO CREATE CONTOVERSIES ON THEIR OWN NOW ! PLAYING SAFE IS THE BEST ! EVENTHOUGH SRI LANKA IS A MULTI RELIGIOUS COUNTRY THE MAJORITY OF PEOPLE (75%) ARE BUDDHISTS. SO IF CBNSAT IS TO TRANSMIT RELIGIOUS CHANNELS THEY SHOULD BROADCAST CHANNELS IN 4 DIFFERENT MAIN RELIGIOUS FAITHS. OTHERWISE IT WILL CREATE ADDITIONAL PROBLEMS FOR CBN.
AND GOD TV IS A FREE TO AIR CHANNEL AVAILABLE IN PAS 10 SATELLITE.
SO IF ANYONE IS REALLY INTERESTED IN WATCHING GOD TV THEY COULD DO IT VERY CHEAPLY BY BUYING A FTA RECEIVER AND WATCH IT "FREE" WITHOUT EVEN PAYING A CENT TO ANYONE.
I THINK CBNSAT SHOULD STICK TO THEIR IDENTITY AS A ENTERTAINMENT AND INFOTAINMENT PROVIDER.
HOPE THE MAJORITY WILL AGREE WITH ME !
I really don’t know about the content shown in GODTV. But it surely sounds like trouble. Like me many Sri Lakans would not know the content of this channel. People fear the unknown. The religious theme makes it more suspicious. CBNsat had it’s share of troubles in recently and it not even over yet. With all the respect to my Christian friends, for god’s sake, no GOD TV on CBNsat.
"Dear Dude and others who want GOD TV"
I don't want to comment on the GOD TV channel anymore and our only hope is that CBNSat doesn't fall into unesessary trouble and controversy in future.
That's it !
Dear Dude !
C-Band Dish (6feet) is only Rs. 6500/=
C-band Receiver is Rs. 5500/=
These prices are from Pettah dealers. There may be cheaper places than this definitely.
So for less than Rs. 12,000 you can get a C-band FTA system which not only have GOD TV but about 75+ FTA channels.
FOR YOUR INFO PLEASE !
DEAR FRIENDS,
YES ! WE ALL ARE FRIENDS OF THE CBNSAT SUBSCRIBER FAMILY ! WE MAY NEED DIFFERENT CONTENT BUT OUR MAIN OBJECTIVE AT THIS TIME SHOULD BE GETTING CBN BACK ON AIR AT LEAST WITH THE CHANNELS THEY HAD BEFORE. LATER ON THEY WILL ADD MORE CHANNELS DEPENDING ON THE SUBSCRIBERS REQUEST.
Guys our first priority is bring CBN back on air. Without that it's no point of talking this matter. Let us focus on tomorrow's hearing. Any news related to licensing issue?
